On 8 October 2026 OpenAI told investors its September annualised revenue was almost 50 billion dollars, against a figure near 68 billion reported nine days earlier. The cause was not lost sales. It was gross versus net. Separately, the company announced it had surpassed 10GW of compute while its own CFO had published 1.9GW of live capacity four months before.
